This is the base pattern to create a paper kewpie doll of your own! The second image in the gallery shows the base, but feel free to use any of my ideas or my testers’ as inspiration. Once blocked, the piece should measure approximately 13in x 26in (33cm x 66cm).

Materials needed:

  • 3.5mm crochet hook

  • ~225 yards (110g) of light worsted/dk weight blue yarn for the background

  • ~115 yards (60g) of light worsted/dk weight skin-colored yarn for the body

  • ~7 yards (1g) of fingering weight peach mohair yarn to hold double with the skin-colored yarn
    I used Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Nectar 687

  • ~40 yards (20g) of light worsted/dk weight red yarn for the hat

  • ~30 yards (15g) of light worsted/dk weight black yarn for the eyes and outlines

  • ~4 yards (2g) of light worsted/dk weight white yarn for the eyes

  • ~2 yards (1g) of light worsted/dk weight dark brown yarn for the eyebrows

  • ~2 yards (1g) of light worsted/dk weight light pink yarn for the mouth and belly button

  • Scissors

  • 2 dowels or sticks approximately 15 inches (38cm)

  • Tapestry needle (to weave in ends)
